The Cantons of Attilium and Elvegast again combine forces to invite you to join us the weekend of 28-30 March 2014 for The Grand Tournament of Friends at Little River Trails in Bunnlevel, NC. We invite you to take part in friendly competitions of Combat, Archery and the Arts and Sciences.

This year Baron Calixus and BaroneSS Adrianna will be choosing Their Baronial champions in armored combat, rapier combat, brewing, the bardic arts, and static Arts and Sciences. All are encouraged to enter. You must be present to be chosen!

Site Information and Directions

Site:Little River Trails, 1690 McNeil-Hobbs Rd. Bunn Level, NC 28323.

Site Restrictions: Pets permitted only on a leash. Fires allowed in only designated areas (pre-existing fire pits)or in above ground fire pits that you bring and take home with you. No vehicles allowed in pavilion. Alcohol is permitted for those over the age of 21. No original containers. Take your empties and trash home with you. Please be aware this is a horse riding site, other horse owners may be using the site with us. Horses arriving at the site must prove negative Coggins test.

Site Amenities: Site features an on-site shower house and restrooms.

Site Directions:
From the North: Take your best route to Highway 401 South to Lillington. Highway 401 takes a sharp right onto Highway 210 just after Harnett County Office Park and just BEFORE the stoplight. Watch for it!. Follow Hwy 210 South over the Cape Fear River and up the big hill into Lillington. 401 and 210 split at the Burger King. Take Hwy 210 off to the right out of town once it splits with Hwy 401. You will cross over the Upper Little River. Just after that you will see Hanson Gravel Co. on your left. The next road to the left is McNeill-Hobbs Road. Turn left and go about 1.2 miles. Little River Trails sign is on the left with a big koi fish on it. Follow the dirt road around the farm. Make a right toward the koi ponds and follow the road to the end.

From the South: Take Hwy 210 North out of Springlake about 18 miles. You will pass the Harmony Baptist Church on the left side of the highway. The next road off to the right is McNeill- Hobbs Rd. Turn right here and go about 1.2 miles. Campground sign will be on the left.

From the East: From I-95, take exit 73 for Dunn and Erwin. Head west toward town. Drive 14.8 miles until you reach Hwy 201/401. Turn left and drive over the Cape Fear River. At this point, follow directions as coming from the north.

From the West: Take best route to Hwy 421 towards Lillington. When 421 intersects with Hwy 201/401 turn right and drive over the Cape Fear River. At this point, follow directions as coming from the north.

Refunds

Refunds will be made in accordance with Attillium Refund Policy:

- Refunds must be requested in writing (an e-mail to the reservationist is acceptable)
- Refunds may be requested until 4 April 2014
- Feast Fee's are non-refundable
- No refunds will be given until event closes
- No refunds will be given unless profit is made
- No refunds will be provided before the event occurs
- All refunds will be made in the form of a check from the groups checking account and will not be issued until the event books have been closed and all reservation checks have cleared

Feast

There will be a French feast prepared by Lord Oissene na Cenn mac Baiscind. Any dietary concerns should be address to him at (910) 309-2275.
Feast is limited to 80 with an "on call" list of 10. Once feast seats are sold out contact the Reservationist to get on the "On call" list.

1st Remove: Fried Fillet of Fish, Salmon Salad, Warmed Herbed Fontina Cheese Spread, Bread, and a fruit platter. 

2nd Remove:  Grilled Cornish Game Hens with Fig Sauce, Grilled Sausages, Peas with onions, and a pasta with an herbed cheese topping.

Dessert: A mixed Fruit Cobbler (and if all of the stars & signs align there could be whipped cream).

Armored, Rapier, Archery, and Equestrian Combat

All Marshaled activities will be updated here on this site as event updates are made

Armored and Rapier inspections will take place from 0900-1100

Rapier and Armored Authorizations will take place from 1000-1100

Armored Combat will begin at promptly at 1100

Fighters are welcome and encouraged to fight on both fields as they are able and authorized.


Target Archery range will open at 1200, with planned shooting activities (Target Archery Marshal, Lady Luisa and Baron Stephan (MKA April and Stephen O'Reilly)

Equestrian Activities will begin promptly at 1000 (horses willing) with Authorizations and any planned activities (Equestrian Marshal, TBD).

Arts & Sciences

This event is about friendship and sharing so, points will be added to the entries for each competition if they are intended to be a gift or are for baronial or royal largess. Since many of the Windmasters’ baronial champions will be selected at this event it is the perfect opportunity if you wanted to make items to be worn by future champions.

Heraldic Display – It’s not just about banners! Show off your projects displaying your heraldry or the heraldry of others. Any medium or project type is acceptable. A minimal documentation card or EZ-Doc explaining your project, methods, and materials is required.

Hats and Headgear – One of the most important parts of any outfit is the hat. Documentation is required and pictures of your process are recommended.

Open display space will be made available.

Performing Arts

Filk and Farce – Keeping with the theme of friendship tell us your funny and fantastical poetic tale about some of your known world friends or serenade them with a filk. This is about friendship so please be good-natured about any ribbing.

If you are not intending to compete and just want to be your awesome bardic self that will be encouraged. If you are not competing and want to help judge and are available to be entertained please contact Eilon bat Miriam: ladymagritte@hotmail.com
